Wolverhampton Tips: Top Cop
Has an atrocious strike-rate but races off 45, is well drawn and if he is to win it will be over 6f at Wolverhampton.
Backing a horse who is 2-67 sounds like lunacy and it probably is but every horse has its price and I’m happy to take a risk at 20/1.
Top Cop’s last win came over 6f at Wolverhampton and if he is to win again this is probably the track. His recent record (past year) over course and distance is 233766 but if you narrow it down to class 6 handicaps his Racing Post Ratings reads: 60-59-61-55-51.
That’s what he is - a moderate all-weather sprinter who struggles to win but the handicapper has given him a chance.
In the 7.10 Wolverhampton he races off a mark of 45 and also has a favourable draw in stall 4. He needs to find some form after a 2-month layoff but he’s good enough to be competitive in this grade. Shane Kelly will need to time his run to perfection but Top Cop isn’t without hope.
