Wolverhampton Tips: Studfarmer
Caught the eye at Kempton when running a 33.8s closing sectional. Badly hampered last time out so given another chance.
It has been over a month since Studfarmer caught the eye at Kempton, seemingly tailed off early in the race he flew home in 33.8s to finish third.
On the back of that sectional performance, we tipped him 12 days ago at Wolverhampton but learnt precious little.
He had to be hard ridden two furlongs out but that was because of the strong pace (100% finishing speed) set by Prigsnov Dancer.
As the leader tired and the race came to a climax, Studfarmer was badly hampered and his challenge was ruined. It is difficult to say where he’d have finished which is why we must give him a second chance.
If he is going to win, he won’t find an easier opportunity than the 7.15 Wolverhampton.
This is only Studfarmer’s fourth start for Polly Gundry and she performed a similar trick when getting Gladstone to win, another horse transferred from John Panvert’s yard.
