Wolverhampton Tips: Seraphima
Still a maiden but her performance at Kempton offered encouragement. Second with a furlong to go despite setting an overly strong a pace.
Seraphima remains win-less after 14 starts but the 4.15 Wolverhampton is a very weak race and it’s a good opportunity to break her duck.
Lisa Williamson’s filly has runs some appalling races during her career but since returning from a two-month break there have been glimmers of hope.
She was only beaten 4.5 lengths over course and distance in December, when pulling hard and then racing wide.
A change of tactics suited her much better at Kempton and having been ridden prominently she was still in second place with a furlong to go, despite setting a suicidal early gallop.
The final 3f speed was 96.2% of the overall speed, implying an overly strong early pace.
Drawn in stall 2, Alistair Rawlinson has the position to attack and with a furlong less to cover, Seraphima might just last out at 20/1 (Bet365).
