Wolverhampton Tips: Red Cape
Has run well at the track recently despite being hassled for the lead. Capable of winning if Dale Swift can conserve some energy.
Red Cape might be 11-years-old but he retains plenty of enthusiasm for the game and could outrun his odds in the 8.20 Wolverhampton.
His last couple of runs over course and distance have been encouraging, especially considering he has become embroiled in pace duels. In both races, his finishing speed was under 100%, which means he was slowing down in the final 2f.
I was particularly impressed by the way he boxed on to finish third only 1.25 lengths behind Chapellerie at the start of the month; his fellow pace-setter trailed in last.
If Red Cape gets a soft lead then he could prove difficult to pass at 22/1 (BetVictor).
