Wolverhampton Tips: Mambo Spirit

Split two of the market principles over course and distance back in December. Shouldn’t be five times the price.

The 3.35 Wolverhampton is a tricky race to assess with three horses returning after long breaks. The more regular runners aren’t attractive either, all looking handicapped to the hilt. In these scenarios the outsiders often hold the value and that is the case with Mambo Spirit.

Racing over course and distance in December he finished 0.75 lengths behind Restless Bay and 0.75 lengths ahead of Lastkingofscotland. Considering there was very little between them, why should he be almost five times the price today?

If anything Mambo Spirit was the unluckiest of the trio as he chased an overly strong pace that set the race up for closers. At 20/1 (William Hill) he is overpriced.
