Wolverhampton Tips: Depth Charge
Earned a sectional adjusted rating of 73 for a claiming win in January but has been racing in the wrong grade until today.
Depth Charge has been campaigned in a strange manner this winter and should have won again by now.
He first caught the eye when winning a claimer at Wolverhampton on the 18 January. He ran a sectional adjusted speed rating of 73, without being fully extended and covered the final 2f over 0.7s quicker than anything else in the race.
Well handicapped off a mark in the low 70s he’s been plying his trade in class 4 handicaps. I admire the ambition of trainer and owner but a class 5 handicap was there for the taking.
In the 8.45 Wolverhampton he finally races in the correct grade and skipping his engagement on Monday at Redcar could prove a sensible move.
