Wolverhampton Tips: Automotive
Ran the fastest closing sectional last time but forced to make his run against unfavoured far rail.
Automotive can be a tricky ride but Shelley Birkett coaxed him to victory once before and can do so again in the 4.40 Wolverhampton.
The 7-year-old has been described as a ‘bridle’ horse in that he finds very little when hitting the front but he has ability and has won four times in 41 starts.
Last time out he was unsuited by the steady gallop (106.8% finishing speed) but showed a bright turn of foot to run the fastest closing sectional of the race and come from last to finish third.
Having manoeuvred his way around horses he was forced to race up the far side rail, which at Lingfield is normally the slowest part of the track.
If he gets a stronger pace and a trouble free passage, he can make amends this afternoon at 5/1 (William Hill).
