Wolverhampton Tip: Street Parade

Unlucky second at Wolverhampton when clocking a 22.05s closing sectional; the second fastest at the track from last 2100 runners. Previous 5f specialist but shapes like he could now get 6f.

Street Parade has spent most of his life racing at the minimum trip but based on his last run, six furlongs could be the making of him.

Last season he raced twice over 6f and ran poorly both times but he is an older horse and perhaps the wind surgery over the winter is helping him stay further. Earlier in the month he was a huge eye-catcher when second behind Watchable at Wolverhampton.

Held-up in rear, he didn’t get the clearest of runs as he tried to close off a steady pace but he was only beaten a neck after covering the final 2f in 22.05s. It was the fastest closing sectional in the race and the second fastest in absolute terms from the last 2100 runners at the track.

In defeat he earned a massive adjusted speed rating of 102 and his strong finish suggested he could make the step up in trip. The form has been franked with both Watchable and Royal Birth running well in the Hever Stakes on Saturday.
