Wolverhampton Tip: Storm Lightning
Previous course and distance winner who will enjoy return to 5f. Fastest closer two starts back and well handicapped on his best form.
Storm Lightning’s form has been up and down this winter but his best two performances have come over course and distance and a return to 5f is in his favour. His last (and only) win came at this track and he should capitalise off a career low handicap mark sooner rather than later.
Two starts back he finished 4.75 lengths behind Jorvik Prince but his run deserves upgrading. He wasn’t particularly well drawn in stall 11 and the leaders didn’t come back to him despite running the fastest closing sectional.
He needs a strong pace to be seen to best effect but if Eoin Walsh can keep him handy from stall 1, he should be finishing strongly.
