Wolverhampton Tip: Sanaadh

Six-year-old who hasn't stood much racing but ran an amazing 21.11s closing sectional at Newcastle after they went no pace through the first half of the race. Fastest closer by 0.35s.

It’s really difficult to judge Sanaadh because the 6-year-old has barely stood much racing. The bulk of his career has been spent in Germany but he’s now managed two starts for Michael Wigham since September.

The most recent of these was when winning a very strange race at Newcastle. The five-horse field crawled through the first 5f which results in an eye-wateringly fast closing sectional. Sanaadh covered the final 2f in 21.11s which is unheard of at the track. The sectional was clearly a function of the steady early pace but Sanaadh was still 0.35s quicker than anything else from 2-out.

The handicapper has only put him up 2lbs for the win and it might be that he has the turn of foot to become a useful all-weather sprinter.
