Wolverhampton Tip: Moss Gill

Only time outside the top-two was in testing conditions at Catterick at end of turf season. High progressive and career best two starts back when winning at York. Handles the all-weather.

The betting can barely separate the three runners in the 8.00 Wolverhampton but I can. Both Watchable and Puds are solid sprinters but Moss Gill could be a cut above them. He is the youngest horse in the field and most progressive.

In nine starts during 2019 he was only out of the top-2 once, on his last start at Catterick where connections reported the going too testing. Before that he’d come out on top at York in a competitive handicap; with a good speed rating when accounting for conditions.

He’s raced twice on the all-weather before, including when second at Wolverhampton a year ago, so he should handle conditions. He is back after a break, well treated at the weights and probably the best horse regardless.
