Wolverhampton: Royal Birth

Never got involved over 6f on return from a break but similair schedule to last year, where he improved vastly for the drop down to his optimal 5f. Getting well-handicapped and capable at this level.

Last autumn Royal Birth began his all-weather campaign thus:

9 Oct 2020 (Kem 6f) Beaten 4.5L @ 66/1
4 Nov 2020 (Lin 5f) Beaten 1L @ 10/1

A similair schedule has been employed against as Royal Birth returned from a 60 day break:

2 Oct 2021 (Wol 6f) Beaten 4.75L @ 33/1
21 Oct 2021 (Wol 5f) ?

The ploy to run him over 6f makes sense, build stamina and get the handicap mark down in a race he cannot win. The question is whether he can win second time out? I certainly believe there will be improvement from Royal Birth and he has a workable handicap mark of 90. I’d prefer to see him at Lingfield or Kempton but there is plenty of pace in the race and it might just fall his way.
