Wolverhampton: Red Alert

I made the case (wrongly) for backing Red Alert on his last start at Lingfield and i’m willing to go in again at a similair price. It turned out that he found the 5f at Lingfield too sharp, left with too much ground to make up in rear, having started slowly from a wide draw. Under the circumstances being beaten 3.75 lengths was hardly a disgrace, his was also the third fastest closing sectional.

In time it might prove that Red Alert is better over 6f but it might also be that Wolverhampton suits him better. He was only beaten 3 lengths over course and distance in a class 4 handicap and he races off a 5lbs lower mark.
