Wolverhampton: Chookie Dunedin

Lost at Wolverhampton in a head-bob on last start but adjusted speed rating of 77 was good. Only horse in field to impress on clock of late and previous course and distance winner.

The 6.00 Wolverhampton is a strange looking race. Going through the field there are precious few instances of horses running speed ratings good enough to win a class 4 handicap and many look woefully out of form. The exception is Chookie Dunedin. He was chinned on the line 22 days ago but ran an adjusted speed rating of 77 in defeat, not the first time he’s been impressive on the clock at Wolverhampton.

That was over 7f but he’s a course and distance winner also and has won off this sort of mark in the past and crucially in this grade. There is always the danger of a longshot suddenly returning to form but Chookie Dunedin is the solid proposition.
