Windsor: Wiley Post

Handicapper has given him a big chance and he was well supported at Brighton. Unfortunately he lost the race when hampered out of the gates but he is capable of winning in this grade.

Wiley Post is a regular at Windsor and whilst not prolific (1 win and 7 placed efforts from 16 starts) he usually runs well over the minimum. His course and distance record is 442331335 with that one victory coming in a class 5 handicap, the grade he races in again.

Wiley Post is rated in the 60s for the first time since 2016 and the handicapper has given him a big chance. I thought he’d take it at Brighton but he was squeezed out at the start and never got into the race, eventually beaten 2.75 lengths. The market support suggested confidence in the horse and I expect the money to come for him again in a race that is no harder to win.
