Windsor Tips: Sahara

We have a small field for the 8.00 Windsor but we can whittle it down further with some simple analysis. Coillte Cailin and Startlit Cantata are better all-weather horses (neither has won on turf) and suddenly we are down to four.

Ickymasho is the obvious favourite but she is opposable. Last time out she enjoyed the run of the race at Lingfield, a steady pace saw her hold on despite the runner-up clocking a faster closing sectional. A mark of 80 looks stiff enough.

Receiving 3lbs, Sahara could be the one to capitalise. Three starts back she finished an unlucky fourth over course and distance. Held-up in rear in a steadily run contest (108.2% finishing speed) she was still travelling strongly when running out of room.

Ted Durcan could never get into the clear and Sahara finished full of running, despite clocking the fastest closing sectional. There is more to come from this lightly raced 4-year-old and she can start by winning this evening.
