Windsor Tips: Provato
Tried to close at Newbury but found his path blocked, would have run one of the fastest sectionals in the race if granted a clear passage.
The 9.10 Windsor is an open looking contest with Provato overpriced at 11/1 (Ladbrokes).
He is still lightly raced and judged on his performance at Newbury he is up to winning at this level.
Provato earned a good speed rating at Newbury (Topspeed 66) and was slightly unlucky the way the race unfolded. Held-up behind a moderate gallop, his run started too far back and found traffic problems when he finally got rolling.
He finished fourth fastest on closing sectionals but granted a clear run he would have matched strides with the leading horses.
Amanda Perrett is enjoying a fine year as is jockey Pat Cosgrave and first time cheek-pieces might eke out the necessary improvement to win a contest of this nature.
