Windsor Tip: Double Up
Has been running well this year and combination of sharp track and small field will help him get a sixth furlong. Handicapper given him a chance off a revised mark of 98.
Double Up races off a double-digit mark for the first time July 2015 and he can make the most of the handicapper’s generosity in the 7.30 Windsor. Last time out he didn’t quite get home at Newmarket when tracking a strong pace and a combination of the smaller field and sharper track works in his favour.
Accounting for pace he earned a speed rating of 93 last time out and he’s gone close twice on the all-weather in 2018 both times with big speed ratings to his name. He’s the type of horse who just falls between two stools, not good enough to win a handicap off a mark in the 100s and Listed contests are also beyond him. However, he is capable of winning class 2 handicaps when conditions are in his favour, especially now he’s back to a fair mark.
