U S Navy Seal On Target

U S Navy Seal On Target

Finished a distant second on UK debut but ran an impressive sectional adjusted speed rating of 75 and not hard ridden.

John Jenkins bought U S Navy Seal, an ex-Ballydoyle colt, for 14,000 guineas and that could prove to be a shrewd piece of business. He’s a horse who clearly had problem considering he’s only raced three times but there’s plenty of ability to unlock.

He made a slow start on his UK debut at Chelmsford and was forced to race in rear behind a steady (106.9% finishing speed) pace. Despite being poorly positioned he was no match for the winner Markabah but ran the second fastest closing sectional to finish a clear second.

Joe Fanning didn’t give the horse a hard time when his chances were over but a sectional adjusted speed rating of 75 is impressive and gives connections something to work on.

Rated 77, a handicap or maiden is within his grasp and he looks a useful prospect in the 9.15 Wolverhampton.
