Turn Over A New Leyf

Has placed 9 times in 11 starts at Kempton and ran well despite a steady early gallop on his last visit to the track.

New Leyf has been a drifter this morning but he has hit a price where I think it’s worth a play in the 3.10 Kempton.

Last time out he was tailed off at Leicester but it was too bad to be true and a quick reappearance suggests there wasn’t anything serious amiss.

Returned to his favourite venue Kempton (3 wins, 6 placed from 11 starts), I am expecting a return to the form he showed two starts back.

New Lefy was only beaten 2.25 lengths by the progressive Dutiful Son and made good headway from the rear despite rallying into an accelerating pace.

The steady early gallop means his penultimate run deserves upgrading, similar comments applied to Marjong who ran well yesterday at Windsor.

With 8 runners scheduled to go to post, New Lefy is a solid each-way bet at 12/1 (BetVictor) with ¼ odds for a top-3 finish.
