Topham Chase Tips: Bouvreuil
Been there or thereabouts in the big handicaps the season and still has a workable mark of 145.
Bouvreuil ran a massive race finishing third in the Brown Advisory handicap and off the same mark he can take the Topham.
An improving 6-year-old he already has plenty of strong form to his name, including at Aintree when fourth in the Manifesto Novices’ Chase, only 2.25 lengths behind the third (and future Gold Cup winner) Sizing John.
At his best on quicker ground, he finished a commendable 5th in the BetVictor Gold Cup at the start of the season and although rarely seen away from Cheltenham, he should go well on a flat track. Back him each-way at 12/1 with Paddy Power and get 6 places at 1/5 odds.
