Thirsk Tips: Thatcherite
Caught the eye with a fast finish on his last turf start in September and shaped well on his comeback run.
Thatcherite has been in the notebook since last September and hopefully our wait will be rewarded in the 5.40 Thirsk.
He caught the eye when third at Pontefract, finishing 3.5 lengths behind the winner having been in last for most of the race.
It was a typical Thatcherite run but his performance deserves upgrading because the finishing speed of 99% was quicker than par and indicates a moderate early gallop.
It was a similar story on his reappearance at Wolverhampton eight days ago. Thatcherite laboured in rear before hitting his stride in the home-straight, only to find his path blocked.
That run should have put him spot on for today and he is a good bet at 7/1 William Hill.
