Third Strike Goes For Five

Third Strike Goes For Five

Third Strike has won his last four races but his speed ratings and sectionals suggest there is still more to come.

Having won four races on the spin you’d think the handicapper would have caught up with Third Strike but he’s not even close.

Gary Moore’s horse went up 5lbs for a neck victory last time but he was much better than the bare margin.

He travelled strongly in rear behind a steady pace and cruised past the early pacesetters who enjoyed the run of the race.

Adjusting for sectional timings, he was the best horse in the race by at least 2-lengths and earned a good speed rating despite the uneven pace.

He is upped in grade for the 6.10 Kempton but his winning run doesn’t look over yet at 3/1 (Paddy Power).
