Talyani Can Put Chelmsford Defeat Behind Him
Possibly wasn’t suited by the surface last time but still looks well-handicapped on his maiden win.
Talyani looked a handicap good-thing on his last start when his price got smashed up, only for him to finish third at 8/11.
Punters might therefore avoid him in the 6.00 York but I’m inclined to forgive a horse a bad run, especially when it comes at Chelmsford. The Essex track has been plagued by problems with its Polytrack surface and it has been difficult to win races from off the pace because of the kickback.
Racing off a mark of 76, Talyani still looks well-handicapped on his Ripon win, the second, third and fourth have all won since. He earned a Topspeed rating of 70 and was worth at least another three lengths given he won from behind in a steadily run contest.
William Haggas has his string in fine fettle and I expect Talyani to bounce back this evening.
