Take Pride

Finished second last time out but moral victor and one of those rare occasions where Adam Kirby got it wrong.

Adam Kirby doesn’t often get it wrong on the all-weather but i’m sure he’d love to have another go on Pride Of Angels. Held-up in rear behind a moderate gallop, he let the eventual winner enjoy a soft lead and despite a strong closing run he was never getting there.

Pride Of Angels clocked the fastest closing sectional by 0.39s and if horse and jockey had got a clear run, or sat closer to the pace they would have won. The handicapper has bumped up the 5-year-old by a couple of pounds but she is still eligible for class 6 handicaps and her lightly raced profile makes her a good bet.
