Swendab Can Capitalise Off Low Mark
Record at Newbury is 212 and bounced back to form at Salisbury last time.
Swendab started last summer rated 86 on turf and although he has only won once since, he is down to a workable mark of 62.
The 7-year-old had been struggling for form of late but he showed the fire still burns with a highly creditable second at Salisbury eight days ago.
He raced up with the pace throughout but couldn’t quite reel in the leader who was positioned at the front of a moderately run contest.
Swendab went down by 0.75 lengths but he recorded a good speed rating and ran the third fastest closing sectional.
This evening he races in the 6.30 Newbury and his record at the track reads 212.
The small field is also to his advantage and he looks a good bet at 4/1 (Coral).
