Strong Provenance

Strong Provenance

Question marks about her rivals and she ran a good race at Royal Ascot, running the fastest closing sectional but undone by the draw.

Ryan Moore seemed to do no wrong at Royal Ascot but he’ll be kicking himself that he got beat on Provenance.

From a wide draw, he was forced to race in rear in the Wolferton Handicap and that was the wrong position for a race run at even pace at best (105% finishing speed).

Moore was left with too much ground to make up on the leaders and although Provenance ran the fastest closing sectional by 0.3s, it wasn’t enough and she finished fifth.

With three of her rivals returning off long breaks and Fattsota well held on their Ascot meeting, there should be little to trouble Provenance at 10/11 (William Hill).
