Spanish Squeeze Can Overcome Absence
Last seen when fourth in a Listed contest on the all-weather and was moral victor that day.
It has been 208 days since we last saw Spanish Squeeze but if he retains any of his old ability, he’ll take all the beating in the 6.15 Chelmsford.
Last time he was only beaten a length in a Listed contest at Lingfield but came out the moral winner of the race.
Slowly into stride and then held up behind a moderate gallop, he ran a 22s closing sectional, the fastest in the field by at least a length.
That was achieved off a mark of 88 and although he is up to 95 this evening, he is racing in a handicap.
A step-up in trip looks ideal, he was slightly outpaced over a mile and at 2/1 (William Hill) he is the one to beat.
