Southwell Tips: Weald Of Kent
Used up too much energy last time after blowing the start and then being hurried up to contest the lead.
La Estrella is the star attraction in the 3.30 Southwell as he bids for a record breaking 27th victory on the all-weather. However, he is best seen in selling/claiming company and he is getting on in years now.
At the opposite end of the age scale is, Weald Of Kent and the three-year-old should be getting better with racing.
Last time at Southwell, he blew the start and was bustled up to contest the lead. The pace was too strong (98.1% finishing speed) and he used up too much energy in the early part of the race, leaving nothing for the finish.
He is a previous course winner and with Mick Appleby’s excellent record (90-450) at the track, he should run a good race at 7/1 (Betfred).
