Southwell Tips: First In Command

Never outside the top three at course and distance and this is easier than the race he won last week.

The 5.20 Southwell showcases an excellent piece of placement by trainer Daniel Mark Loughnane. Although First In Command carries a 6lbs penalty he is actually running in a weaker race than the one he won a week ago. His record over course and distance is now: 321.

He travels strongly and racing off a mark of 61, he is still well handicapped having won off 80 in his prime. His speed ratings have consistently been a couple of lengths better than anything in this field; in my book he is an evens money chance. At 7/4 with William Hill, he provides some value even at a short price.
