Southwell Tip: Piazon
Course and distance record is 11221110 and last run best ignored from a terrible draw.
With a course and distance record that reads 11221110 there is plenty to recommend Piazon in the 1.35 Southwell. Normally a recent finish of tenth would be a bad thing but it actually keeps him at a backable price and there were excuses.
Last time out he was drawn 13/13 (one non-runner) and the nearside rail is not the place to be at Southwell. He was beaten from the start and it’s best just to draw a line through the run.
Already a winner in this grade a mark of 81 isn’t insurmountable and he is much better drawn in stall 1. He is very much a course specialist, has the speed ratings to back up his results and should go well again.
