Southwell Tip: Kindly
Still unexposed given her age and every chance she takes to the Fibresand (won at Chelmsford & Lingfield). Ran well at Newcastle despite a poor draw.
The top-two in the betting for the 2.30 Southwell are easily overlooked because the best bets in the race are Young John and Kindly. The big question is if you go for the course form of the former or the latter who is more suited by the trip?
It’s a tough call but i’m coming down on the side of Kindly for many small reasons. She is the slightly better price and also less exposed than Young John despite being the same age.
Most of her career has been spent in Ireland and she only moved back to the UK in the summer, when transferring to the care of Michael Easterby. As a result this is her first start at Southwell but she’s won the all-weather before (Chelmsford & Lingfield when with Simon Crisford).
Last time out she was sent of favourite at Newcastle and she wasn’t beaten far despite not having the best of draws. In defeat she earned a sectional speed rating of 74 and that is good enough to win in this grade. First time eye-shield is another potential positive and she rates the best bet.
