Southwell: Papas Girl
Won division one of a 5f sprint at Southwell in a much faster time (0.78s quicker) than division two. Was rated much higher in her early career and well drawn to go in again.
A combination of horses who raced in both divisions of 5f sprints on 16 December lock horns at Southwell. With speed ratings not available yet on the new Tapeta, we can only really compare times on the same card and this gives us an edge. Both divisions we run at true gallops but division one was much the faster (0.78s) and the winner Papas Girl can double up.
She is unexposed on the all-weather, this only her fifth start and she has run well at a higher level, including when fourth in a class 5 handicap at Kempton almost a year ago. She is only up 1lbs for the win and was rated much higher earlier in her career. From a fair draw of stall 6, she looks the best bet.
