Southwell: George Thomas
Runner-up in back-to-back starts at 5f before flopping in amateur race over 6f. That is easy to throw out and has required form based on close second to Loulin over course and distance in November.
The horses in the 2.15 Southwell will take it in turns to beat each other. All are low grade and none are progressing or showing anything interesting on the clock. George Thomas has a good form-line through his short-head defeat to Loulin three starts back. He was also runner-up at Wolverhampton and we can throw out his last performance over 6f, it’s a trip he’s never run well at.
A strike-rate of 1/21 isn’t appealing but there are no certainties in this grade and he has won off a much higher mark.
