Digital ran a really nice race on his reappearance from a 138 day break. Racing over 6f, he was still cantering with a couple of furlongs to go. The mad spring for the line didn’t quite work out and the fact he was fresh/keen early in his race probably didn’t help; nor did the sixth furlong.
Despite the defeat, it’s clear his running style in ideally suited to Southwell in particular the straight 5f track where it helps to be a strong traveller. There is every chance Digital comes on for the run and his record at the minimum trip reads: 22212312. In receipt of weight from his main rivals, his biggest problem might be the draw.
