Southwell: Devious Angel

Ran in an above average maiden on debut and wasn't disgraced. This is a far easier contest and her front running style is ideal for the track. Well clear of the rest on speed figures.

There is not much form on offer for the 2.20 Southwell but from what there is Devious Angel appears comfortably the best horse in the race. She finished seventh, beaten four lengths on debut at Newmarket in what looks a decent Maiden. Bellarena Lady (runner-up) came out and won over the weekend and the time figures from the race suggest it was a good contest.

Devious Angel will need to handle the Fibresand but Tom Dascombe historically does well at this track (21% strike rate) and know what type of horse you need. Her front running-style should also help keep her out of the kick-back.

The market suggests Edinson Kevani is the danger and although proven on the track his time figure was nothing special and visually he didn’t look a winner in waiting.
