Southwell: Amber Dew
Looked potentially useful when racing over 5f as a juvenile. Lost way since but down the handicap, has run well at Southwell and better than bare form of late when poorly drawn.
Amber Dew has been highly tried this season without making much headway but she is down in class and a handicap mark of 75 makes life easier. The last two starts she’s been blighted by a high draw at York but if we ignore those performances and go further back there’s bit and pieces to get excited about.
In February she was bay 1.5 lengths by Lucky Man at Southwell (when rated 82) and in her juvenile campaign her best performances came at the miniumum trip. On a track she handles, with a favourable trip and draw she could go well at a price.
