Only 1.25 lengths separated Bridge Of Sighs and Spirit Of Gondree when they last met and there are several reasons why Spirit Of Gondree could turnaround the form.
The 8-year-old is more exposed than his rival but enjoys a 3lbs pull in the weights. The draw could also play a part, with Spirit Of Gondree well berthed in stall one and Bridge Of Sighs drawn wide in gate nine.
The biggest factor could be the jockey. This is Franny Norton’s only ride of the evening and he has a 32% strike rate (9-28) for Milton Bradley on the all-weather this winter.
