Sky Bet Dash: Jonah Jones

Has been outpaced early in his 5f races but finished strongly to finish third twice and record big speed figures. Should enjoy step up in trip; a previous course and distance winner.

Ed Walker has been struggling for winners of late but Jonah Jones has run well in both starts this season and can get on the scoresheet in the 2.45 York. His last two performances have produces big speed figures but each time he’s got behind early and finished strongly. He was slightly unlucky at Haydock, meeting traffic problems but there were no excuses at Ascot.

His running style suggests he needs a sixth furlong and that is what he gets at York. Winner over course and distance as a juvenile, this looks his ideal trip (an easy 6f) and a low draw could be a further advantage with the stalls on the far side.
