Crying out for a step back up in trip judging by the way he stormed home at Chepstow. Made up 6.5 lengths on the leaders in the final 3f.
Diamond Vine was a winning selection for this column back in February and he can do the business again in the 2.30 Wolverhampton.
He is nothing more than a moderate handicapper who wins in his turn and that might be coming based on his last run at Chepstow.
Outpaced over an inadequate 5f, he charged home in the final 3f making up 6.5 lengths on the leaders and just failing to get up in time. He finished third by half a length but shaped as if he could win returned to 6f.
That is where he finds himself this afternoon. He is a previous course and distance winner and although this is a slightly tougher race than the one he won in February, the good speed rating he ran last time suggests he can take a hand at 8/1 (Betfred).
