Shafafya Unlucky Last Time

Shafafya Unlucky Last Time

Positioned too far back in a steadily run contest and found her path blocked when trying to quicken.

Paul Hanagan has a good set of rides at Kempton for Sheik Hamdan Al Maktoum with Shafafya a lively contender for the 5.40 race.

Last time out at Nottingham she was only beaten 0.75 lengths but looked unlucky and was probably the best horse in the race.

Held-up behind a farcically slow pace (115.4% finishing speed) she was caught on her heels as the leaders sprinted for home.

Traffic problems meant it took her a while to get into full flow and by then the race was practically over. Nevertheless, she ran the fastest closing sectional and would have won in another 100 yards.

She is a useful filly and with the experience under her belt she can make amends this evening at 11/2 (William Hill).
