Sandown Tips: Stake Acclaim

Stake Acclaim looked a potentially smart sprinter based on he seasonal reappearance at Windsor in April. Despite tracking an overly strong pace, he saw out the race well to earn an impressive sectional adjusted speed rating of 99.

Given his lightly raced profile, that marks him out as a sprinter of great potential especially when there is cut in the ground.

He took a step backwards when beaten 4.5 lengths at Goodwood last time but there were mitigating circumstance. The entire field went a ludicrously strong pace and that created a false result. Everything finished much slower than par, including Stake Acclaim who raced prominently.

He’s been given plenty of time to get over that run and has ideal conditions in the 2.20 Sandown. He has the plum draw in stall 1 and is 2/2 on soft ground.
