Sandown Tips: Richard Of Yorke
Won on his racecourse debut but like most Cumani runners should improve for the experience. Ran a blistering closing sectional at Windsor and potentially smart.
The 7.35 Sandown is a warm handicap with several useful looking individuals but the best of the lot could be Richard Of Yorke.
He won on his debut for Luca Cumani, a rare feat in itself because his horses usually need their first start.
The manner of his victory was even more impressive. Held-up behind a steady gallop (110% finishing speed) he showed a devastating turn of foot to round the field and come home in 22.5s.
By Windsor standards that is a very fast sectional, even accounting for the slow early pace.
Richard Of Yorke is surely much better than his handicap mark of 85 and he is the type of horse who could go right to the top.
