Sandown Tips: Easton Angel

Sandown Tips: Easton Angel

Looked close to her best on her season return at York and a much better horse over 5f.

Easton Angel returned with a bang at York when we tipped her last month and it looks like the horse who finished second at Royal Ascot is back.

For my money she put up one of the best two-year-old performances of 2015, when second to the beast Acapulco in the Queen Mary last season. Beaten by the draw more than anything, she ran a cracker in defeat and earned a massive speed rating of 104.

She rather lost her way after that, with the experiment of trying to stretch her stamina to 6f failing miserably. If you look at her form over 5f it reads 11251, one of those defeats was to the aforementioned Acapulco and the other was at the end of a hard season at Ayr.

Encouragingly Michael Dods said he thought Easton Angel was still two or three weeks off her best when winning at York. She again earned a big speed rating of 92 and with possibly more to come.

She hasn’t got a great draw in the 3.20 Sandown but she is adaptable regards running style and should be much shorter than Ornate who is well held through a form line with Gracious John.
