Sandown Tip: Wafeer

At face value, Wafeer has a terrible draw in stall 13 of 13 but in big fields runners have come up the nearside rail and at least he won’t have anyone cutting across him from the widest draw.

Last time out he didn’t get home in soft ground over 6f but previous to that he displayed a good turn of foot at Haydock over 6f. He travelled strongly through the race and although he was too far back for the sprint finish, he clocked the third fastest closing sectional against more experienced rivals.

On breeding and connections there is every chance he is better than he’s shown and if the big field go a mad gallop the race could fall apart and set up for him.
