In great form, won at Salisbury with a 36.41s closing sectional the fastest at the track this season (419 runners). Loves a stiff 5f and should run another big race.
Rio Ronaldo has never scored above class 4 company but he is a prolific winner (6-33) and he ran a cracking race at Salisbury last time out. Quickening off a steady gallop he covered the final 3.25f in 36.41s making him the fastest closer in the race by 0.59s.
Adjusting for pace he earned a speed rating of 97 and although that might be overplaying his ability he’s run big speed ratings before and this was the fastest closing sectional recorded at the track this season from 419 runners.
Rio Ronaldo loves a stiff 5f track, has won at Sandown before and can overcome the penalty.
