Salisbury: Colombe
Showed a devastating turn of foot to score at Windsor. Her closing sectional was a second quicker than anything else in the race and she looked very comfortable. Much better than a mark of 70.
I was really impressed by Colombe’s run at Windsor and a handicap mark of 70 is lenient. She did what she had to, tracking a solid gallop before delivering a turn of foot to score at Windsor. Visually it all looked very easy and her closing sectional was a second quicker than anything else managed in the race.
Adjusted for pace she ran a good speed rating but it’s not an outlier as she showed ability when fourth in a fast time at Sandown last year. She handles the ground, has a good trainer and looks comfortably the best horse in the race.
