Royal Ascot Tips: Log Out Island
Using Buratino as a yardstick and only examining the final 2f of a race, Log Out Island comes out favourably versus King Of Rooks.
Realistically there are only two possible winners of the Norfolk (2.30), both at the head of the market, but I don’t understand the disparity in price between King Of Rooks and Log Out Island.
Both horses beat Buratino earlier in the season and if we use him as a form line then a different picture emerges.
Neither race involving Log Out Island (29 April) or King Of Rooks (28 May) were run at a flat out gallop and the sectional timings are more informative.
Margin vs Buratino in lengths
Two furlongs from home, Log Out Island was racing upsides Buratino but was able to establish a 5.5 lengths margin of victory at the line. King Of Rooks established a lead early in the race but only increased his lead by 1.6 lengths at the line.
Even accounting for some improvement in Buratino between races, Log Out Island’s victory was the more impressive from a purely sectional standpoint. Throw in the fact that he earned a large speed rating for his win and he looks the better bet at 11/4 (Ladbrokes).
