Royal Ascot Tip: A'Ali

Clocked fastest closing sectional (33.39s) recorded all season at Ripon (320 runners). Unlucky to finish second but impressed on the clock with an adjusted speed rating of 95.

A’Ali arrives at Royal Ascot with an unusual profile. His only run ended in defeat at Ripon, hardly exciting on paper but on the clock he’s a different prospect. In a race run at a moderate gallop (finishing speed 104.8% of average races speed; quicker than par) he had to make his run from further back than ideal. Event with this handicap it looked like he would win until Spartan Fighter just pulled out a bit more at the finish.

In defeat A’Ali earned an impressive adjusted speed rating of 95 and clocked the fastest closing sectional of the race by 0.25s. It was obviously an above average Novice race and the leading pair pulled 9 length clear of the third horse.

A’Ali’s closing sectional (33.39s) is the fastest at Ripon all season (from 320 runners) an impressive feat for a juvenile on debut. He is an exciting prospect.
