Duke of Cambridge Tips: Certify

Career punctured by the Godolphin steroid scandal but market has forgotten she was a high-class two-year-old.

One of 22 horses banned in the Godolphin doping scandal, Certify’s ability has been overshadowed by outrage.

Unbeaten as a two-year-old and a wide margin winner of the Group 1 Fillies’ Mile, she missed the entire 2013 season.

Largely a forgotten horse, she made a winning reappearance at Meydan and her potent turn of foot was still intact.

Certify covered the final 400m of her contest in 22.85s; almost as fast as the preceding 5f sprint when Alsaaeqah (rated 105) ran the final 400m in 22.77s.

Things didn’t go so well on her last start, she played up behind the stalls and ran no sort of race when sent off the 2/5 favourite.

Punters seem burnt by that experience, she is friendless at 14/1 (BetVictor) but she has top class form to her name and could spring a surprise in the 4.25 Ascot.
